What is the Power BI and what is it used for?

Get Data — I

You can connect to your databases from Get data section and upload your tables and observe relationships between them. You can also import Excel, Text, XML, and CSV files.

There are multiple Power BI products. I use both web and desktop product.

Recommend Hardware for Power BI Desktop:

  • Available RAM 1.5 GB + recommended(1 GB minimum)
  • CPU: 1 GHz or faster x86, or x-64
  • Display : 1440 x 900 or 1600 x 900
  • Display setting for text: 100 % less
  • Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2 or later
  • .NET 4.5
